Acer palmatum 'Chitoseyama' is an award winning Japanese maple. It was the recipient of the Award of garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for its outstanding perform and qualities. In the spring the leaves emerge a rich purple with red hues. As the summer progresses the seven pointed, lobed leaves mature to a bronze-green. In the fall the leaves turn a bright scarlet red. Acer palmatum 'Chitoseyama' has a compact growth habit making it a great Japanese maple for small spaces or containers.
