'Fjelheim' is a Japanese maple that was found on a witches’-broom growing on 'Sango Kaku', the Coral Bark Japanese maple.  It forms a compact tree much like the popular Coral Bark but smaller. 'Fjelheim' has the same wonderful bark and the fantastic yellow fall color as 'Sango Kaku'. 'Fjelheim' will remain dwarf, growing only 5 feet or so. This Japanese maple is great for tight spaces or containers.

'Fjellheim' can be difficult to grow in wet areas – be sure to have good drainage in your soil if you intend to grow this wonderful maple. 'Fjellheim' can have a tough time growing when weather is cold and wet in the spring for days – weeks at a time.
