Acer palmatum 'Tamukeyama' is a red weeping laceleaf Japanese maple tree that is very hardy and a vigorous grower. 'Tamukeyama' leaves emerge in the early spring a deep burgundy. 'Tamukeyama' Japanese maple is know for its ability to hold its dark red color into the summer months. Tamukeyama turns a bright scarlet red in the fall.
Acer palmatum 'Tamukeyama' habit is cascading with an umbrella shape. Due to its late spring leaf emergence, 'Tamukeyama' is a great cold hardy selection, since it typically misses the late freezes we tend to get here in North Carolina.
