Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Harvard Gold'

Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Harvard Gold' is a bright gold variety of Japanese False-cypress.  Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Harvard Gold' is a moderately fast growing, brilliant golden evergreen shrub that makes a stunning specimen or could even be used as a screening plant in a sunny location.  There seems to be some online controversy regarding the size that 'Harvard Gold' will reach - most online sources say 2" per year and slowly to about 3' tall.  We certainly don't see that with our plants - we easily get 12" or more per year and suspect the plant will reach 20' or more in time.  Our plants match the photos and descriptions online with the exception of growth rate.  It is possible that we obtained ours wrongly named, but don't know - if you have any thoughts on this topic, please feel free to contact me.  Regardless of name validity, this is a stunning plant and worth of being in any garden where a bright yellow, evergreen shrub is needed.
