Magnolia ashei

Magnolia ashei (Magnolia macrophylla var. ashei, Ashe magnolia, dwarf bigleaf magnolia) is a small deciduous tree or large shrub with large papery leaves and huge white flowers.  Magnolia ashei is a spectacular North Florida native with massive pale green leaves backed silvery white and produces very large, fragrant, white flowers as well and at a very young age.  When the leaves drop in the fall, they tend to fall bottom side up and are truly stunning!  (If you get bored some day, give me a call to hear my theory on why the leaves fall this way).  This is on my list of "must have" plants in my garden due to its extremely bold appearance and is great as a specimen or planted in groups.   WOW plant!

• HARDINESS:  zones 6-9
• EXPOSURE:  part shade, sun
• SIZE:  10-15' (can get much larger occasionally)
• SHIPPING SIZE:  1/2 gallon pot.  8-12" plant.   See last photo for example.
