Magnolia x 'Ann’

Magnolia x 'Ann’ is a deciduous large shrub to medium sized tree with medium sized flowers in spring that are reddish purple outside and white inside.  Magnolia x 'Ann’ makes a bold specimen or group planting with its medium sized reddish purple  flowers in spring and usually late enough to avoid frost damage.  Magnolia x 'Ann’ is one of the "Little 'Girl" hybrids released by the US National Arboretum many years ago and is one of the best of the group.  Of the many "Little Girl" magnolias that were released, my personal favorites are 'Jane', 'Betty' and 'Ann’.
