Phoebe formosana

Phoebe formosana is an evergreen shrub (small tree).  Here is one for the collectors - Phoebe formosana is a favorite plant of Tony Avent and he has a stunning specimen growing in his Arboretum.  Phoebe formosana is in the family Lauraceae and is related to avocados and bay leaf.   Phoebe formosana appears to be becoming a fairly large shrub and maybe even a small tree in time and would be useful anyplace a large, evergreen back ground plant is needed in your garden.  Phoebe formosana is certainly a plant you aren't likely ever going to see at your local garden center!  Rarely grown but worthy of a place in your garden.
