Stewartiax 'Scarlet Sentinel'

Stewartia x 'Scarlet Sentinel' is a deciduous tree with green leaves in the Summer, scarlet fall color in the Fall, and white flowers in the Spring.  Stewartia x 'Scarlet Sentinel' is a reported hybrid between Stewartia pseudocamellia and Stewartia ovata var. grandiflora that was found and named by Peter Del Tredici of the Arnold Arboretum.  Stewartia x 'Scarlet Sentinel' is similar to Stewartia pseudocamellia but has rose pink stamens compared to Stewartia pseudocamellia that has yellow stamens.  Stewartia x 'Scarlet Sentinel' is rarely offered and will make a stunning specimen in your garden with its large white flowers with rose pink stamens, excellent scarlet Fall color and exfoliating bark.  Very limited and won't last long.
