Acer elegantulum x palmatum 'Johnnie's Giant'  is a unique hybrid of a Chinese maple, Acer elegantulum, and a Japanese maple. This fast growing green Japanese maple performs exceptionally well. 'Johnnie's Giant' leaves emerge in the Spring Orange-red to yellow. The leaves turn green as they mature. The new growth of 'Johnnie's Giant' continues to be bright pink-red through-out the summer months. As Summer turns to Fall the leaves of  Acer elegantulum x palmatum 'Johnnie's Giant' start out turning to yellow, later being infused with oranges. Expect 'Johnnie's Giant' to reach 15ft high in 10 years.
