Acer palmatum 'Akita yatsubusa’ is a very slow growing green Japanese maple with a dense foliage and small leaves. As summer turns to fall the leaves will turn from green to a bright red. In 10 years expect ‘Akita yatsubusa’ to reach 3-4 ft high and wide. Because of its dwarf growth habit, ‘Akita yatsubusa’ is an excellent tree for bonsai culture or container gardening.
