Acer palmatum 'Hefner's Red' leaves emerge a deep maroon color in the spring. Throughout the summer month the leaves continue to hold the deep maroon color. As the fall starts to cool down the leaves to a bright fiery red color. The great thing about 'Hefner's Red' is that it can take the heat of the south and keep that lovely maroon color. Acer palmatum 'Hefner's Red' growth habit is upright and dense. Expect 'Hefner's Red' Japanese maple to reach 12-15 ft high in 20 years.
