Acer palmatum 'Jet Black' is a recent introduction by Buchholz Nursery. 'Jet Black' leaves emerge in the spring an electric red in color, like it's screaming to you that spring is here. As you would expect from the name 'Jet Black', the leaves in the summer turn a deep dark maroon red in color. As the cool temperatures of fall move in, the leaves of 'Jet Black' will turn to scarlet red. Expect 'Jet Black' to reach 12-14 ft high in 10 years.
