Acer palmatum 'Kuro Hime' is compact and has pink-red leaves that emerge in the spring that change to green in summer.  Acer palmatum 'Kuro Hime' is a dwarf Japanese maple that is extremely vigorous as a young plant, so it quickly makes a nice landscape plant while maintaining a dwarf habit.  Acer palmatum 'Kuro Hime' is an excellent small specimen plant and also looks great in a container.
