    Acer palmatum 'Nishiki Gawa' is known as the pine bark Japanese maple and has typical species green leaves but the trunk and older branches produce heavily fissured and textured back which gives the tree the appearance of being very old.  Excellent for bonsai.  Fall color is yellow to orange
