Acer palmatum 'Ornatum' is an EXCELLENT, older, cut leaf cultivar of Japanese maple that has brick red leaves in the spring that turn bronze in the summer.  The stems on Acer palmatum 'Ornatum' are bright green and make a great color combination with the foliage.  I've seen STUNNING old specimens of this plant and it truly is one of the greats!
