Acer palmatum 'Red Cloud' leaves emerge in the spring with a cherry red color and strap-like linearilobum style leaves (long, narrow, strap-like lobes which are very deeply divided almost to the leaf base). During the summer months the leaves of 'Red Cloud' will turn a darker red that will last till fall. With the cooler temperatures of fall, the leaves of 'Red Cloud' turn a brilliant shade of orange-red. You should expect Japanese maple 'Red Cloud' to reach 8 ft high in 10 years.
