Acer palmatum 'Sharp's Pygmy' leaves emerge in the spring a rich green containing  deeply divided lobes that are heavily ridged on the sides and sharply pointed.
'Sharp's Pygmy' has a thick trunk and a  dwarf growth habit for a Japanese maple.  The leaf structure and dense branching habit make 'Sharp's Pygmy' a very sturdy dwarf Japanese maple. The fall color of the leaves of 'Sharp's Pygmy' turn bright oranges to reds. Expect 'Sharp's Pygmy' to reach 5 to 6ft high by 5 to 6ft wide in 15 years.
