Acer palmatum 'Shirazz' leaves emerge in the spring bright red that are outlined by a pink-red variegation. If planted in the full sun in the south, at the tail end of summer the older growth of 'Shirazz' will turn to a greyish-green with cream variegation. If given protection from the afternoon sun, 'Shirazz' will hold it's spring color into the summer months. You should expect Japanese Maple 'Shirazz' to reach 12ft high in 10 years.
