Acer palmatum 'Utsu Semi' leaves emerge in the early spring a bright yellow-green with purple red tips. 'Utsu semi' leaves mature to a dark rich green as the summer warms. As the temperatures of fall cool, leaves of 'Utsu Semi' turn a yellow and orange. Expect Japanese maple 'Utsu semi' to reach 10-12 ft high by 12ft width in 20 years.
