Ardisia crenata 'Alba'
Ardisia crenata 'Alba'
Ardisia crenata 'Alba' (Christmas Berry, Australian holly, Coralberry, Coral bush, Spiceberry) is a beautiful selection of Ardisia crenata with evergreen, deep green leaves. Ardisia crenata 'Alba' also produces masses of showy white berries that persist year round! Ardisia crenata 'Alba' is best grown in shade and is great in mass plantings or as a specimen planted in a location that its beautiful white berries can be appreciated. Ardisia crenata 'Alba' is also great grown in a container (move to a protected area during the winter). Ardisia crenata is above ground hardy into the teens Fahrenheit. Ardisia crenata 'Alba' is a seed grown stain that should be totally true to type from seed, but we have not yet fruited these 2 year old seedlings, so can't guarantee white fruit. In warm coastal areas, Ardisia crenata can reseed and probably best grown as a container plant.
