Ardisia japonica 'Kokikan' is a beautiful, variegated, evergreen groundcover with green leaves broadly margined in ivory.  'Kokikan' looks similar to the well know 'Variegata' but grows considerably slower.  This is good where space is limited and you don't want as an aggressive ground cover.  I think the variegation on 'Kokikan' is brighter than on 'Variegata' - maybe due to the very dark green centers contrasting sharply with the ivory edge.  'Kokikan' will slowly form a colony in a shaded garden.
