Aucuba japonica 'Hosoba Hoshifu'

Aucuba japonica 'Hosoba Hoshifu' (gold dust plant, Japanese laurel, spotted laurel)  is an evergreen shrub with narrow foliage brightly splotched with yellow dots.  Aucuba japonica 'Hosoba Hoshifu' is a fairly compact plant that looks great in mass plantings or as a specimen.  Aucuba japonica 'Hosoba Hoshifu' is a female that will produce large red fruits if a male Aucuba is nearby.  The berries will last throughout the winter, making a nice contrast against the yellow/green foliage. Aucubas are great plants that will thrive in heavy shade.
