Aucuba omeiensis is a RARE evergreen large shrub or small tree with very large, glossy, serrated leaves.  Aucuba omeiensis is a stunning large shrub or small tree that is most un aucuba like.  Aucuba omeiensis has extremely large leaves (for an aucuba) that are very thick (almost like thick plastic) with strong serrations. This selection of Aucuba omeiensis was made by Mark Weathington of the JCRA for its ability to withstand both our winters here in the Raleigh, NC area as well as the heat and humidity (typically our climate is a death sentence for Aucuba omeiensis).  To date, I have not seen this clone flower so don't know its sex.  I've seen large specimens in New Zealand covered in large red fruits.  Mark tells me he has a few other adaptable clones so hope to be able to offer known male and female clones in time.
