Betula nigra 'Little King'

Betula nigra 'Little King' (river birch) is a very dwarf, compact growing form of river birch.  It will slowly make a small rounded tree (large shrub) in your garden and is showy even in the winter after the leaves drop since it has nice, exfoliating cream colored bark.  Betula nigra 'Little King' makes an excellent specimen and I've seen it used in small groves that were pretty amazing to see.  Great where you want the beautiful bark effect of river birch without having a big, messy tree in your yard.
