Callicarpa americana 'Welch's Pink' (American beautyberry) has small lavender pink flowers followed by clear pink fruit.  Callicarpa americana was found by Matt Welch in East Texas and varies from the typical Callicarpa americana in having bright, clear pink fruits that are larger than normal.  Callicarpa americana 'Welch's Pink' can be cut back hard during late winter to encourage bushier new growth and a shorter plant that encourages even more fruit production on the new growth. Great used in naturalized woodland gardens or sunny borders and is easily adaptable to a wide range of growing conditions.  Callicarpa americana 'Welch's Pink' adds a new and distinct addition to our gardens.  Thanks Matt for a truly unique selection! Thanks to Mike Chelednik for use of his photo.
