Camellia japonica  'Debutante Benten' is an evergreen shrub with green leaves bordered in pale gold with pink flowers.  Camellia japonica 'Debutante Benten' is a beautiful variegated camellia with green leaves broadly margined with pale gold and has medium pink, formal double, flowers in spring.  Camellia japonica 'Debutante Benten'  makes a great statement in the garden, even when not in bloom with its beautiful variegated foliage and can be used in mass  plantings, mixed into a shrub border, or as a specimen plant.  As with all Camellia japonica varieties, a bit of shade from afternoon sun is best.
