Camellia japonica 'Wakayama Prefecture' is an interesting variegate that originated in Japan.  Note this is not a named cultivar - at least not yet.  While this type of variegation is subtle and best appreciated close-up, on this plant it seems extremely consistent (we've had no reversions). The plant also has a pleasingly-compact, upright growth habit. Camellia japonica 'Wakayama Prefecture' has bloomed for the 1st time this year, we are happy to report that it is a nice single pink.
