Camellia 'Xiafeng Relang' (Summer's Wind and Hot Waves) RARE
Camellia x 'Xiafeng Relang' has coral red, loose-peony form flowers with beautiful, glossy, dark green foliage. Camellia 'Xiafeng Relang' is a cross between Camellia azalea x Camellia japonica 'Daikagura' and has been the very best performer of any Camellia azalea hybrid we have trialed. The intention of the Camellia azalea hybrids was to produce summer blooming or even ever blooming Camellias. Camellia x 'Xiafeng Relang' starts blooming for us here in eastern North Carolina typically in August and in greenhouse conditions (frost free) we see some blooming until Spring. Reports indicate more hardiness than expected. A truly stunning achievement in plant breeding and we are excited to offer this RARE beauty. Camellia x 'Xiafeng Relang' is great as a specimen or can be used in mass plantings in shade to part shade.
