Camellia x 'Crimson Candles' is a fantastic landscape camellia from the late Cliff Parks.  This free-blooming hybrid of C. reticulata and C. fraterna bears masses of small, semi-double rose-colored blooms in earliest spring.  Quickly makes a large, full shrub, though it can seem lanky in its youth.  The cultivar name alludes to the developing flower buds - which are crimson.
