Camellia x 'Tina Tuttle' is an outstand new introduction by John Davy of Panhandle Growers in Florida. 'Tina Tuttle' is a hybrid from Camellia rosaflora and is covered with small, medium pink flowers on a small tree. Camellia x 'Tina Tuttle' is late winter blooming in NC (early winter in Florida) and the flowers are very resistant to cold - open flowers will burn but this plant produces huge numbers of buds (that don't get damaged by the cold typically) and will be back into bloom a week or so after weather warms up again. Truly an awesome landscape plant and best to grow as a small tree. Thanks to John for sharing a few cuttings of this great new hybrid with us - we only have 5 plants available this year and it will be 2 years before we have a new crop available.
