Camellia sinensis 'Yellowleaf' has fairly large (for sinensis) white, single flowers and green or green/yellow variegated foliage. The leaves on Camellia sinensis 'Yellowleaf' are very unusual compared to other selections of Camellia sinensis (tea) with leaves many times larger than usual. The yellow mottled leaves vary in intensity from plant to plant and even time of the year. We have made green tea from the most highly variegated leaves and LOVED it! Much milder and sweeter than other green leaf teas we have tried. Camellia sinensis 'Yellowleaf' makes a beautiful, compact plant and bees love the late summer flowers as well. Camellia sinensis 'Yellowleaf' is great as a specimen or can be used in mass plantings in shade to part shade.
