Carpinua betulus 'Pendula' is a strongly weeping form of European Hornbeam with green leaves and ground hugging branches.  The plant pictured is at the J. C. Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, NC and has been opened up inside into a mini play house of sorts.  Too much fun!  The size and shape of this plant is only limited by your imagination.  The seeds are produce in long racemes are are equally stiking!  Stake it to desired height and shape.
