Cercis glabra 'Celestial Plum'

Cercis glabra 'Celestial Plum' is a deciduous, multi stemmed shrub with heart shaped leaves and lavender flowers in the spring.  Cercis glabra 'Celestial Plum' is a JCRA introduction and is truly a stunning addition to the spring time garden!  Cercis glabra 'Celestial Plum' produces ENORMOUS quantities of flowers in the spring before leaves come out and does not bloom at the same time as Cercis chinensis or Cercis canadensis (plant all three species for an extended bloom period).  Cercis glabra 'Celestial Plum' makes a powerful statement as a specimen or even better as a group planting.  Cercis glabra 'Celestial Plum' blooms heavily as a young plant and just gets better with age!
