Daphniphyllum macropodum 'Ki Midori Nakafu' EXTREMELY RARE!!!

Daphniphyllum macropodum 'Ki Midori Nakafu' is a broadleaf evergreen large shrub or tree with green leaves with golden center.  Daphniphyllum macropodum 'Ki Midori Nakafu' is a stunning evergreen tree or large shrub with glossy green leaves with yellow center and is one of the most sought after woody plants in the gardening community!  'Ki Midori Nakafu' is fairly fast growing in rich, organic, moisture retentive soil and will become a small tree or large shrub.  'Ki Midori Nakafu' will often produce a solid green branch which needs to be removed immediately - the green branches grow faster than the variegated branches and you will quickly have a large green plant with only a few variegated branches.  Sadly the few larger plants I know of 'Ki Midori Nakafu' in the USA have not had green branches removed and are now mostly green - this makes obtaining scionwood for grafting even more difficult to finding other variegated forms.  We collected scions from 2 large trees - one in Oregon, one in North Carolina, and were only able to get about 12 scions.  This variety is much more difficult to produce than other variegated forms and commands a high price due to these issues.  Almost never available and we only have a few available this year.  Be the envy of your gardening friends with the addition of this stunning variegated Daphnipyllum!  If you really want to make a statement - buy 1 of each of the 3 different variegated Daphhiphyllums we have available this year!  Thanks to Mike Chelednik for use of his photos.
