Dichroa febrifuga 'Yamaguchi White' is a beautiful, white flowering form of the typically blue flowering Dichroa febrifuga that was introduced into the USA from Japan by Ted Stephens of Nurseries Caroliniana.  Dichroa febrifuga 'Yamaguchi White' is an evergreen that has pale green leaves and bright white flowers and appears to be slower/smaller growing than the typical species. Ted mentions that he has not yet seen fruit, so not sure if it has typically blue fruit or white fruit.  My stock plant from Ted appears to have been pollinated this year, so I think we will have an answer to the fruit color question later this year.  Either way, it makes a stunning addition to the garden.  Best grown in rich, moisture retentive soil in shade to part shade.  Very excited to finally have this plant available.
