Emmenopterys henryi Flowering Tree RARE!

Emmenopterys henryi is a large, deciduous, flowering tree from China that is closely related to our Pinckneya bracteata from the SE USA.  The flowers are similar but E. henryi flowers are mostly off white.  E. henryi will become a very large tree in time. Dr. Cliff Parks told me years ago about visiting a valley in China that had very steep walls - he was at the top of the walls and the valley below was covered in mature Emmenopterys henryi in full bloom.  Hard to image the views he had that day.  The plants that we are offering are seed grown from seedlings that Nick Lazio collected from a tree in his parents garden.  I'm sure there will be some variation in them since they are from seed.  Fall color can be a really nice plum purple.  All have been EXTREMELY  fast growing and we can barely get the smaller one into shipping boxes.  If  you are in the Raleigh area and want purchase the larger ones, just add a note to your order that  you will be picking up in person and to pull the larger ones.  Thanks to Nick Lazio for use of his photos.
