Hydrangea aspera "Purple Leaf"

Hydrangea aspera "Purple Leaf" is a large growing deciduous shrub with large, purplish green leaves with purple underside.  Hydrangea aspera "Purple Leaf" is a stunning, large shrub if grown in climates where it is happy (PNW) where it will form a large mound of purplish green leaves with bright purple undersides.  Truly a stunning foliage plant!  I have not observed any flowers, but would assume the same as the species.  Hydrangea aspera "Purple Leaf" grows much better in climates with cool summer night temperatures but that being said, I have seen a very nice plant of the cultivar growing in a garden in Raleigh NC.
