Hydrangea aspera "Purple Leaf"

Hydrangea aspera "Purple Leaf" is a large growing deciduous shrub with large, purplish green leaves with purple underside.  Hydrangea aspera "Purple Leaf" is a stunning, large shrub if grown in climates where it is happy (PNW) where it will form a large mound of purplish green leaves with bright purple undersides.  Truly a stunning foliage plant!  Flowers lace-cap with very pale blue/purple fertile flowers and white sterile flowers. Hydrangea aspera "Purple Leaf" grows much better in climates with cool summer night temperatures but that being said, I have seen a very nice plant of the cultivar growing in a garden in Raleigh NC.
