Ilex vomitoria 'Pendula' (Weeping Yaupon Holly) is an evergreen, weeping tree with small leaves and red berries.  Ilex vomitoria 'Pendula' is a stunning, small, weeping tree that can be trained into a low spreading shrub or an upright tree.  Ilex vomitoria 'Pendula' is a great Southeast native shrub/tree and is a great nectar source for bees and good source for birds that eat the red fruit in late winter.  If you need a beautiful small tree for the corner of your house, consider using Ilex vomitoria 'Pendula' - with a little pruning and training it is perfect for this use.  Ilex vomitoria 'Pendula' is stunning as a specimen but equally awesome in group planting.  Ilex vomitoria 'Pendula' is great planted with large ornamental grasses and I've seen spectacular mass planting using this combination.  For best fruit production, plant Ilex vomitoria 'Pendula' in full sun.  This plant is tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions and it also very salt tolerant, so a good choice for coastal plantings.
