Ilex x 'Sadie Scudder'

Ilex x 'Sadie Scudder' is a broadleaf evergreen with very spiny, shiny leaves that are irregular splashed or stippled ivory.  Ilex x 'Sadie Scudder' is a heavily variegated selection of Ilex cornuta x Ilex pernyi that can be used as a specimen, mass planted, or used as a hedge.  Ilex x 'Sadie Scudder' is very spiny and would make a good barrier to keep pesky neighbors at  bay.  Probably best to keep pruned since it does tend to be fairly open (at least when it is young - then it becomes denser with age).  Ilex x 'Sadie Scudder' has an unusual form of variegation and is highly variable - it can be splashed, streaked, stippled or almost margined.  Thanks to Mike Chelednik for use of his photos.
