Illicium x Woodland Ruby' is a hybrid between' Illicium floridanum 'Alba' and Illicium mexicanum.  'Woodland Ruby' has exceptionally nice, fragrant, evergreen foliage and larger flowers than found on Illicium floridanum and a brighter, clearer red Ruby color.  We have a very large Illicium collection and this is certainly one of the best green leave varieties we grow.  Excellent in naturalistic planting, steam side planting or as a specimen.
