Liriodendron tulipifera 'Snowbird' (Variegated Tulip Poplar or Tuliptree) is a deciduous tree with large leaves broadly margined white. Liriodendron tulipifera 'Snowbird' is a STUNNING, RARE , white margined Liriodendron that actually holds it color throughout the summer! Not to be confused with Liriodendron 'Aureomarginata' which only shows colored margins in the spring, then turns all green by summer - 'Snowbird' holds its white margined leaves until fall, when they turn the typical bright yellow/gold fall color. Liriodendron tulipifera 'Snowbird' will become a large tree in time and exhibits an upward branching habit and it best used as a specimen where it can grow without being blocked from view by other trees. Liriodendron tulipifera 'Snowbird' is extremely rare in cultivation in the USA and almost impossible to track down. We had to wait several years to be able to get one very tiny plant (cost $300 for 10" plant!) and we finally have a very limited supply available. Thanks to Mike Chelednik for use of his photo.
