Magnolia x 'Red Star' NEW RELEASE

Magnolia x 'Red Star' is a large deciduous shrub or small tree with dark pink flowers in thew spring.  Magnolia x 'Red Star' is a new release from Tom Krenitsky that has dark pink buds opening to medium pink outside and paler inside.  Not "red" but Magnolia x 'Red Star' is one of the darker star magnolia types and will make a delightful addition to any garden.  Magnolia x 'Red Star' can be used in group plantings or as a specimen and prefers fairly rich soil with average moisture.
