Osmanthus fragrans 'Fudingzhu'
Osmanthus fragrans 'Fudingzhu' (tea olive, sweet olive, sweet osmanthus, fragrant olive) is an evergreen shrub with green leaves and small, white, fragrant flowers. Osmanthus fragrans 'Fudingzhu' is, without doubt, the most fragrant plant I grow in my garden! Osmanthus fragrans 'Fudingzhu' is extremely heavy flowering and typically puts on a mind blowing display in the fall and often again heavily in the spring and periodically throughout the year and is a welcome pollen/ nectar source for a large range of bees and other pollinators. On warm autumn evenings, the intense fragrance of my large plant of Osmanthus fragrans 'Fudingzhu' can be detected from 1/2 mile away! AMAZING!!! Osmanthus fragrans 'Fudingzhu' is fantastic in mass plantings, hedges (prunes very easily) or a specimen. No southern garden should be without this outstanding plant!
