Osmanthus heterophyllyus 'Akebono'

Osmanthus heterophyllus 'Akebono' is an evergreen shrub with small green leaves that flush white in the spring, then fade to green for the summer and small, fragrant white flowers in late winter/ early spring.  Osmanthus heterophyllus 'Akebono'  is another of the osmanthus with colorful spring foliage and is a little more subdued than some of the other varieties with the new growth tipped with white.  Osmanthus heterophyllus 'Akebono' makes a great evergreen screen in full sun or partial shade (white new growth is produced better in more sun) or can be used as a specimen or in mass plantings.  Plant Osmanthus heterophyllus 'Akebono' where you can appreciate the delightfully fragrant, small white flowers.
