Osmanthus heterophyllus 'Fastigiata' (West Coast Form)

Osmanthus heterophyllus 'Fastigiata' (West Coast Form) is an evergreen shrub with holly like, green leaves and small, fragrant, white flowers.  Osmanthus heterophyllus 'Fastigiata' (East Coast Form) is badly in need of a name change.  All the plants we've seen listed on the East Coast as 'Fastigiata' grow to be compact, round balls - certainly not fastigiate.  The West Coast form of 'Fastigiata' is truly upright and is correctly named. Osmanthus heterophyllus 'Fastigiata' (West Coast Form) is great in mass plantings, as a low hedge, mixed with dwarf conifers or other low growing shrubs, or as a specimen.  It has the same, small, white, fragrant flowers as the species and is truly a landscape worthy plant!
