Parrotia persica 'Red October' is a fairly new introduction from Belgium that grows fast and has a broad spreading growth habit.  It was selected for its outstanding merlot-red fall color.  'Red October' will quickly become a small, spreading tree and in time will become a large tree.  Beautiful planted only the edge of a woodland garden or as a stand alone specimen.
