Planera aquatica 'Falling Water' is form of Water Elm selected many years ago by Dr. Todd Lasseigne and is any amazing fast, and tough plant. We have had plants put on 10'+ per year in containers with optimal care and 3-4' per year in the ground is not uncommon. Best to stake and prune when young to the desired height you want. If you don't do this, it can become a tall ground cover. Planera aquatica is a species that deserves MUCH greater attention in modern landscapes due to its incredible adaptability. It can grow in wet to fairly dry soil, compacted red clay or good soil. One of the most durable species of trees I know, and not in commercial production as far as I can tell. 'Falling Water' adds an other dimension to an already fantastic species! Fall color is usually a muted yellow.
