Pyracantha 'UNCC Dwarf' is a dwarf, spineless, evergreen shrub with small white flowers followed by orange fruit. Pyracantha 'UNCC Dwarf' is a fantastic dwarf and SPINELESS selection shared to us by Tony Avent - Juniper Level Botanical Garden and is the best Pyracantha I've seen! Pyracantha 'UNCC Dwarf' is a true dwarf that will slowly get to 3' tall. In 10 years, Tony's plant is now about 12' wide in 10 years but could easily be pruned to keep smaller (remember - no thorns, so easy to prune!) Pyracantha 'UNCC Dwarf' could be used in mass plantings, a specimen or would make a fantastic Bonsai due to its slow growth rate and compact habit. Pyracantha 'UNCC Dwarf' produces lots of small white flowers in the summer which are followed by masses of orange fruit into the winter - birds love the fruit.
