Salix integra 'Hakuro' is a large deciduous shrub with yellow leaves in the spring that slowly turn green by summer.  Salix integra 'Hakuro' is rarely seen in gardens  ('Haruro Nishiki' is widely planted) and is one of the better golden, spring foliage plants we have in our garden.  Like all willows, Salix integra 'Hakuro' prefers a constantly moist location and in cooler climates like the PNW, will likely stay bright gold all summer.  Here in our baking heat in NC we get great spring color that fades as night temperatues start warming up.  Some years the new growth can be nearly white that turns yellow, other years it starts out bright yellow fading to pale green for the summer and then golden yellow fall color.   A truly stunning tree that should not be as rare as it is.  Salix integra 'Hakuro' is a fast growning large shrub and we might prune it prior to shipping to fit into box.
