Toona (Cedrela) sinensis 'Flamingo'

Toona sinensis 'Flamingo' is a fast growing, deciduous, colony forming tree with brilliant pink leaves in spring turning tree with warm weather.  Toona sinensis 'Flamingo' is the most brilliantly colored spring foliage plant that I know and more than rivals the best flowering trees for spring color.  This brilliant pink color is only produced in areas with cool spring temperatures  like the PNW and will not show color in the southern parts of the country.  Toona sinensis 'Flamingo' is a very fast growing tree that will slowly colonize and make multiple trunks.  It is probably best to grow in a lawn area where the root suckers can be mowed off, of allow plenty of space for it in your garden.  If you are in a cool spring climate area, you will be rewarded with several weeks of the most intense HOT pink leaves you can imagine!  Toona sinensis 'Flamingo' is heavily planted in eastern Australia and across New Zealand and is truly a sight to behold!
